Spring Flowers…finally!

I took these this morning at the dog park behind Sunnybrook hospital.

I googled “Ontario Spring Flowers, mottled leaves” and apparently this is a trout lily (Erythronium americanum).

  1. Trilliums already! Now I have to get up to the cottage in about two weeks to see the forest floor turned white with something other than snow. Yay!

    • Until someone picks them all. o.0 I remember being a child who knew better, and seeing another young child with her arms full of trilliums at a public park. Her parents were so proud. Shouldn’t “Don’t pick trilliums because they will never grow again” be posted at all entries into all parks everywhere? Or possibly all entry points into Canada?
