I’ve reached the “be careful what you wish for” part of the writer’s dream

So still no contract, although I know there’s much negotiating being done behind the scenes. I’m sure my agent and editor will tell me what I need to know. ::sigh::

Got my first-ever serious edits last Friday–just as a) my computer died, b) we went up North without internet for a week, and c) I got a cold. Thank God for chocolate or I’d be a real mess.

I’m almost finished with the cutting and new plot line part. The problem is, there are great swaths of the book that aren’t funny. I don’t mean boring, I just mean jarringly different from the rest of it. It’s like it’s written in two different voices. So first I’ll write the plot and then I’ll go back and make it funny.

That’s a plan. I like plans.

About Gina X. Grant

Gina X. Grant writes ingenious plotlines with twists, turns and sometimes magic. She is represented by Rosemary Stimola, the agent who also represents the Hunger Games series. Gina’s RELUCTANT REAPER trilogy is available from Simon and Schuster’s Pocket Star imprint. She lives in Toronto, Canada, just blocks from the house she grew up in. She’s married to a friendly curmudgeon from a mining town in Northern Ontario. They have one rescued hound, Storm, named for Gina’s other pen name.
