Small fish: Big pond. It just might work out.

I announced last week that I have been offered a 3-book deal with Simon & Schuster’s digital-first imprint, PocketStar.

Essentially, I’m a little author with a little deal at a big publisher.

As you can imagine, going with them was a big decision for me. I wanted print (which I still may get) and I worried I’d be a miniscule frog in the entire Great Lakes system.

But so far, I’ve had an hour-long chat with my editor-to-be, just to say hi. And today I’ve been invited to participate in an online “author boot camp,” exclusively for S+S authors.

I can’t say for sure, but I think only Carina, of all the e-publishers out there, offers author training.

So I guess there already some advantages to being with one of the big guys. W00t!
